Rehabilitation Therapy Student Intern (PRN)

Physical/Rehabilitation Therapy Department

Location: Aspermont, TX

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Job Type: PRN / As Needed

Schedule: Flexible | Hours not guaranteed

Job Summary

The Rehabilitation Therapy Student Intern (PRN) supports the Rehabilitation Therapy Department by assisting licensed therapy staff with patient care support activities and daily departmental operations. This opportunity is open to senior high school students pursuing a college-bound healthcare career pathway and college students enrolled in rehabilitation or allied health programs. The position provides hands-on exposure to a clinical healthcare environment while supporting rehabilitation and cardiac rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, and Cardiac Rehabilitation staff with non-clinical support tasks
  • Prepare, clean, and organize therapy treatment areas and equipment
  • Transport patients to and from therapy sessions when appropriate
  • Observe rehabilitation and cardiac rehabilitation sessions for educational purposes
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy spaces
  • Stock supplies and assist with general department organization
  • Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Open to senior high school students pursuing a college-bound healthcare career pathway
  • Open to college students enrolled in rehabilitation or allied health programs, including Physical Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related fields
  • Interest in healthcare or rehabilitation careers
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • Professional demeanor and willingness to learn
  • Must meet facility age 18 and older, supervision, and student employment requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform light physical activity
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

Additional Information

  • PRN / as-needed hours based on departmental need
  • Flexible schedule compatible with school commitments
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening, as applicable
  • Compliance with immunization, health screening, and training requirements
