SCHEDULE:  16 hours/week


INTERNSHIP DATES: Academic Year 2025-2026


LOCATION: 170 Morton St


SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:


Purpose and benefit of internship to the program/intern:
 

The intern, working under the direction of the Stabilization leadership team. The intern conducts individual and group sessions and participates in the development of group content. They works closely with intake case manager and aftercare coordinator to assist in discharge planning and placement including the development of community supports. The Substance Abuse Clinician will assist in running groups in the program. The intern will receive supervision from the Clinical Supervisor, and will bring issues of clinical import or client interaction to the Clinical Supervisors attention.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:


REQUIRED:

  • Working toward Clinical Master’s Degree
  • Bachelor’s in a social science field
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good internet and email etiquette
  • Good computer skills, particularly in internet research and MS Office, including Excel

PREFERRED:

  • Understanding of non-profit and government agency landscape in Massachusetts

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:


REQUIRED: 

  • Experience using motivational interviewing in client interactions
  • Familiarity conducting research and writing reports and guides in a social science field

PREFERRED:

  • Familiarity with the issues underlying homelessness, including disability, mental illness, substance use disorders, and economic issues
  • Familiarity with the issues impacting the availability and accessibility of affordable and alternative housing
