About the role: 

Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person-centred care. It provides acute, sub-acute, primary and community‐based health services, to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding regions. More information can be found on the CHS website.

Medical Staff in the Canberra Health Services enjoy excellent conditions, and our Enterprise Agreement is available at: ACTPS Medical Practitioners Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026

Applications are sought for the 2027 Intern Training Program commencing in January 2027. Internship at CHS commences earlier than other jurisdictions to allow delivery of a comprehensive orientation program.

The 2027 clinical year will commence on 1 February 2027.

Canberra Health Services network, includes rotations across Canberra and surrounding regional NSW. In addition, as a major tertiary referral centre, with a recently purpose built critical clinical services building. Areas of Canberra Health services such as ACT Pathology, Mental Health ACT, Capital Regional Cancer Service, Rehabilitation and Aged Care Services and Obstetrics and Gynecology are all teaching facilities for the Australian National University.

Positions are available for Postgraduate Year 1 (Interns/PGY1s). Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). Successful candidates are offered a 
2 -year contract.
