POSITION SUMMARY:   

The Social Media Intern supports the Brand Management team by helping elevate the social media presence of Mizkan America’s portfolio of iconic brands, including RAGU, Bertolli, Mizkan, Nakano, and Holland House.

This role is ideal for a creative, highly engaged social media user who understands digital culture, food content, and platformspecific storytelling. The intern will assist with content creation, community engagement, trend research, and performance tracking across major social platforms in a fastpaced, collaborative environment.

The Social Media Intern will gain handson experience working with real consumer brands, contributing to live campaigns, and building portfolioready creative work while learning from experienced marketing professionals.

 

Mizkan America Social Media Intern – RAGU, Bertolli, Mizkan, Nakano, Holland House

Are you looking to have a super exciting summer while learning, developing and bringing tangible value to legacy brands like RAGU, Bertolli, Mizkan and Nakano? We are looking for native content creator and curator that will help us elevate Mizkan’s social experience. This role is perfect for someone that is “in the know”, has great creative and editing skills and is eager to amplify how our brands show up across platforms. This critical role will be imbedded in the Brand Management team supporting our Mizkan America portfolio of Signature brands. Our intern will be operating in a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Support and help refine social media strategies across multiple brands and platforms.
  • Create content for social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest.
  • Assist with daily community management, including monitoring comments, messages, tags, and brand mentions.
  • Track and report on basic social media performance metrics, including engagement, reach, and audience growth.
  • Monitor social trends, cultural moments, and competitor activity to inform content ideas.
  • Support influencer content coordination and brand collaborations, as needed.
  • Help ensure content aligns with established brand voice, tone, and visual guidelines.
  • Assist with campaign launches, product moments, and key calendar events.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with brand, creative, and marketing partners.
  • Help source, organize, and edit content (photos, videos, captions, hashtags)
  • Assist with influencer content coordination or brand collaborations (as needed)

  • Avid user in social media, digital & pop culture, and strong content creation skills
  • Active, knowledgeable user of major platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
  • Gets the vibes and has deep fluency
  • Understanding of food, cooking, and taste appeal and how it translates to social content.
  • Creative mindset with basic photo/video editing and storytelling skills.
  • Organized, detailoriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills and openness to feedback.

Education/Experience/Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Business, or a related field (design/production focus a plus).
  • Interest in brand marketing, social media, content strategy, or digital communications.

 The hourly rate for this internship position is $20 per hour.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Ability to remain seated at a workstation for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
  • Ability to view computer screens and read printed materials for prolonged periods.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and reaching within the office environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry office supplies or equipment weighing up to 10–15 lbs.
  • Adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and via phone/video.
