ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an intern to join the Cell line Development/ Upstream Process Development team. This will enable the individual to learn skills associated with antibody drug development, both in terms of cell line development workflows and process development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform aseptic handling in a biosafety cabinet (BSC)
- Perform cell culture in shake flasks and bioreactor handling on a routine basis
- Perform cell culture analysis with manual (hemacytometer) or automated cell counting methods, and metabolite analysers on a routine basis
- Perform chromatography purification, including affinity and Multi-Modal Chromatography, using AKTA systems
- Prepare cell culture media, purification buffers for various process development steps
- Able to record data accurately, legibly and in a timely fashion
- Analyse and present information with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Support in data analysis, and technical documentation writing
- Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and perform under pressure
- On-job training will be provided
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering program
- Competency in suspension cell culture and aseptic techniques preferred
- Competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- A basic understanding of cell biology, biologics manufacturing and process development
- Able to commit for a 20 weeks internship period
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in aseptic techniques and biosafety cabinet (BSC) work
- Experience in downstream purification techniques using an AKTA
