We're Looking For:

OPENLANE is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Compliance Intern to join our Office of the CISO/Corporate Compliance team. You are a curious investigator who enjoys understanding the "why" behind processes and has a passion for risk management and data integrity. You are highly organized, able to juggle multiple requests, and comfortable interacting with various departments to ensure our global business units remain secure and compliant.

You Will:

  • Collect, maintain, and update compliance and evidentiary documentation, reviewing all artifacts for accuracy and completeness.

  • Support internal compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure business units meet contractual and regulatory standards.

  • Assist with vendor risk management activities to evaluate and monitor third-party compliance.

  • Support the remediation of audit findings by tracking progress and validating completed compliance tasks.

  • Conduct research on organizational goals, industry strategies, and state-of-the-art compliance practices.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by staying current on professional publications and regulatory updates.

  • Support various Corporate Compliance projects as assigned by the CISO office.

Must Have’s:

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s degree program in Information Systems, Business Administration, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • 0-1 years of experience in a professional office setting or through relevant academic projects.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex requirements clearly.

  • Familiarity with office automation suites such as Google, Microsoft Office, etc.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision while meeting strict deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Nice to Have’s:

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOX, SOC1/SOC2, or GDPR.

  • Previous internship experience in Information Security or Audit.
