About the Role

Description

The Provost’s Office is seeking a detail-oriented student assistant to support administrative operations. This role involves non-confidential document management, including scanning and organizing files. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to accuracy.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Scan, digitize, and organize physical documents into secure digital formats
  • Assist with document tracking, filing, and retrieval systems
  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as data entry, photocopying, and secure disposal of documents
  • Support special projects, under the direction of the Provost’s Office
  • Uphold a professional and confidential standard in all interactions
  • Maintain high regard for student privacy in accordance with FERPA policies and procedures
  • Assist with promotion of survey completion, event publicity, and small event management
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming office environment
  • Uphold professional standards in appearance and demeanor
  • Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours
  • Perform other functions as assigned

Physical and Scheduling Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Schedule to be determined, based on academic commitments

Transferable Skills:

By the end of their experience, the Student Assistant will be able to:

  • Communicate effectively in professional settings
  • Coordinate document management projects
  • Understand and apply document retention policies


Requirements

Requirements Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at Keuka College
  • Availability to work on-campus between 10 am and 4:00 pm for up to 8 hours per week
  • Familiarity with office equipment (e.g., scanners, copiers) and basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint) and Canva
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable and self-motivated, with ability to manage a project from start to finish

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in an office setting or with document management systems
