About the Role

Chmura Economics & Analytics (Chmura) is a leading economic advisory and technology development firm specializing in “big data” analytics. We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineering Intern to support our Engineering team. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our amazing team of data engineers and product developers - contributing to developing our state-of-the-art software and data products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Engineering team to roll out new data driven capabilities.
  • Participate in the full application development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the design, development, testing, optimization, and documentation of data products.
  • Build data pipelines, solutions, and products with a high degree of reliability, scalability and security.
  • Collaborate with the Data Governance team to ensure data integrity and usability.
  • Communicate solutions by explaining the design, lineage, and logic of the data models and processes.

Requirements

  

  • You have implementation skills with programming languages such as C#, Python, Java, or C++.
  • You have experience working with querying languages such as SQL.
  • You have good knowledge of algorithms, data structures and OOP principles; experience with distributed computing and data science is a plus.
  • You are excited to solve ambiguous problems with a collaborative team.
  • You are excited to solve unique business problems and participate in a collaborative team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn from and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems, or a related degree. Must be a rising Junior or Senior.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership for your work.
