Position: Software Engineer Intern

Reports To: Director of Business Systems & Data Modernization

Position Summary:

The Software Engineer Intern joins Epoch's Business Systems team to help design, build, and ship features for our portfolio of web applications that run the business. Reporting to the Director of Business Systems with day-to-day mentorship, this role contributes directly to live tools used by Epoch employees and partners. The internship offers concrete, scoped projects and visibility into how a high-trust engineering team operates.

This is a paid 10-week internship offering hands-on experience and mentorship, expected to run from mid-June through August

What you’ll do:

• Work with stakeholders to capture system requirements
• Build and ship features inside several live applications
• Develop a reusable in-app support request widget that routes user-submitted tickets into the company's intake system
• Extend existing REST APIs and build new endpoints as needed
• Resolve bugs and deliver improvements across the application portfolio
• Maintain current application documentation

What qualifications you’ll bring:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Working knowledge of at least one modern Javascript framework (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript with React, Next.js, or Vue)
• Experience consuming and building simple REST APIs
• Working knowledge of relational databases and basic SQL
• Comfortable with Git and a typical pull-request workflow
• Experience deploying to a cloud platform (Cloudflare, Azure, AWS, Vercel, or similar) preferred
