At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signaling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Could you be the Digital Maintenance Intern we are looking for a 6-month period from September 2026?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and put your engineering and digitalization expertise to work in a cutting-edge field. You will work with a collaborative, innovative, and passionate team, and you will play a key role in improving the performance of our Alstom products in terms of maintenance costs, availability, and reliability through the development, deployment, and validation of digital analytics strategies.
As a Digital Maintenance Intern, you will contribute end-to-end to defining analytics strategies at rolling stock level (Doors/Air Conditioning/Brakes/Traction/Batteries/...). You will gather expectations expressed by Alstom customers, translate them into realistic proposals (in interaction with railway technical experts and data scientists), and validate the return on investment.
You will be responsible for:
• Understanding and deepening knowledge of equipment operation in order to pass key information on to data scientists
• Supporting project execution by validating digital inputs coming from monitored equipment
• Analyzing unexpected equipment behaviors using train signals analysis
• Validating our algorithm results by calculating performance indicators, in close collaboration with project maintenance teams around the world
• Facilitating user training and ensuring project handover to regional teams using our solutions
Your profile
We value passion and mindset more than experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every skill. Instead, we’ve listed the ones we believe will help you succeed and thrive in this role:
• Engineering student or Master’s level (5 years of higher education) available for a 6-month internship
• Specialization in electronics, mechanics and/or computer science is desirable
• Ability to interact with other professions, whether internally (Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) or in other departments (subsystem experts, maintenance teams, project teams, etc.)
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
• Programming skills (Python) are a plus
• Curiosity and proactive attitude
• Autonomy and ability to work independently
• Attention to detail and a focus on high-quality results
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
Important to note
As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
