About the Role

  • Key Responsibilities / Content of Work:
    As an R&D Intern in the CommScope Advanced Engineering group, you will be a member of a multidisciplinary team of experts in mechanics, optics, and processes. The Advanced Engineering department focuses on research and development of breakthrough technologies in the field of fiber optic connectivity for data centre applications. Responsibilities include the evaluation and improvement of advanced optical fiber termination processes, validation of precision measurement equipment, and functional product testing.

 

  • Required Qualifications:
    • MS/PhD candidates in a technical discipline such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, photonics engineering, electromechanical engineering, nanotechnology, or physics.
    • Strong analytical skills with aptitude for statistical analysis and data processing. 
    • Ability to perform hands-on engineering testing in a lab environment.
    • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who can collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on advanced technology development projects.
    • Languages: English (required), Dutch (preferred)

 

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Basic knowledge of fiber optics or photonics applications is an asset.
    • Familiarity with design of experiments.
    • Understanding rapid prototyping techniques.
