We are looking for a VIE European Public Affairs for a 12‑months assignment in Brussels to support our Public & Government Affairs activities at the heart of EU decision‑making.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in EU health, industrial and innovation policy, within a global life sciences company, and to work closely with EU institutions, trade associations and key stakeholders.

 

What will be your responsibilities?

 

Fully integrated into the Public Affairs team, you will contribute to monitoring, analysis and advocacy activities carried out at global, European and national levels:

  • Monitor and analyse EU policy and legislative developments relevant to the company, including health, diagnostics, industrial policy, innovation and sustainability
  • Prepare briefings, background notes, presentations and internal summaries for senior management and internal teams
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities, including preparation of meetings with EU institutions (European Commission, Parliament, Council) and Brussels‑based stakeholders
  • Follow and contribute to the work of key trade associations (e.g. EFPIA and other relevant platforms) and report back on discussions and positions
  • Attend conferences, events and institutional meetings and provide structured feedback and analysis
  • Support the organization of EU‑level events and meetings hosted or co-organized by the company
  • Contribute to stakeholder mapping and intelligence gathering in Brussels and across the EU ecosystem
  • Provide general support to the Public Affairs team in its day‑to‑day activities

 

Who are you?

  • Master’s degree in European Affairs, Public Policy, Political Science, EU Law, International Relations or equivalent
  • First professional experience or internships in EU affairs or public affairs, ideally within EU institutions (European Commission, Parliament, Council), in a public affairs consultancy, in a trade association, or in the pharmaceutical / life sciences sector
  • Good understanding of EU decision‑making processes and institutional dynamics

Languages

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Fluent French is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of another EU language is a plus
