About The Company
Audi has almost won in every category of motorsport – now it’s time for Formula 1. From 2026, we will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship with our own factory team. The new team has three locations. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing, while Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg an der Donau (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. Our recently opened Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in Bicester (UK) will extend the team's presence and influence within the global Formula One landscape, giving the team access to the world’s largest motorsport expertise and talent pool. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations with support from the UK. Popular on a global stage, highly emotional and technologically advanced – Formula 1 is a spectacular platform for the world’s most sophisticated racing cars and Audi wants to demonstrate "Vorsprung durch Technik" in this competitive environment. The decision to enter Formula 1 was driven by new regulations announced by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). From 2026, sustainable synthetic fuels will be used while approximately 50% of the drivetrain’s power will be electric. We are the Audi Revolut F1® Team.

Audi Revolut F1 Team is the official factory team of Audi, as the brand enters the FIA Formula 1 World Championship for the first time in 2026. 

The team is based in three locations: the power unit is developed by Audi Formula Racing GmbH at the Audi Competence Center Motorsport in Neuburg, Germany; the chassis is engineered and race operations are managed from the state-of-the-art facilities of Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil, Switzerland; while the Audi Motorsport Technology Centre UK in Bicester, United Kingdom, provides a foothold in the heart of 'Motorsport Valley', with direct access to top F1 talent and key strategic partners.

Your mission

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated student to gain hands-on experience in Composite Design – a team focusing on lightweight and manufacturable designs. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real projects that make an impact. 

  • Supporting day-to-day activities within the Composite Design team, primarily the design of carbon fiber parts for the car and laminate tooling within our CAD system
  • Assisting on the creation of laminate books and/or drawings for production
  • Exposure and collaboration to other teams such as Aero, Manufacturing and Performance 
  • Conducting research, analysis, or data entry as required 
  • Collaborating with team members and attending meetings 
  • Presenting findings or contributing to reports 
  • Learning and applying new skills relevant to the role

Your profile

  • Currently studying towards a degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
  • Strong interest in Motorsport
  • Good communication and teamwork skills 
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative 
  • Knowledge of composites
  • Basic CAD skills (3DEXPERIENCE or Catia V5/V6  are an advantage)  
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines

Eligibility Criteria
  • Right to work in Switzerland (EU/EFTA citizenship or Swiss work permit)
  • Available for the full 12 months of the programme 
  • Available to start on 01.09.2026
  • Internship as part of your study programme
  • Currently studying towards a degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
