About the Role

The Customer Services Internship is designed to provide practical, hands-on experience within a professional customer services environment. Based in Midrand, this role supports the Customer Services team in delivering a high standard of service to schools, educators, and institutional customers.

As an intern, you will gain exposure to core customer service processes including order management, customer query resolution, and data administration. You will also work closely with internal teams such as sales, warehouse, and finance to ensure a seamless customer experience.

This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career candidate looking to build a strong foundation in customer service and develop into a Customer Services Consultant role over time.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist with processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Support in responding to customer queries via email and telephone
  • Capture and maintain accurate customer information on internal systems
  • Assist with updating customer accounts and ensuring data accuracy
  • Follow up on outstanding orders, deliveries, and customer requests
  • Work closely with internal teams to support customer service delivery
  • Escalate complex queries to senior team members when required
  • Support general administrative tasks within the Customer Services team

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Customer Service, Marketing or related field
  • Strong interest in customer service and administrative work
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to manage time and work within a team

Desirable:

  • Previous internship or part-time experience in a customer-facing or administrative role
  • Exposure to systems such as SYSPRO or customer service platforms (e.g. Freshdesk)
  • Interest in the education or publishing sector
