About the team you are joining

The Advocacy and Industry Regulation (AIR) Workstream is one of two legal workstreams within the Legal (LSCS-LEGAL) department. It provides legal support for IATA’s advocacy activities on behalf of its member airlines and manages secretariat support for the Legal Advisory Council and related working groups, including those focused on litigation and privacy.

What your day would be like

As a Legal Intern, you will work under the supervision of Senior Legal Counsel within the AIR Workstream and collaborate closely with lawyers across the team. Your work will primarily involve conducting legal research across multiple jurisdictions on a broad range of civil aviation issues.
You will also:

  • Prepare summaries of legal cases, legislative developments, and regulatory updates
  • Contribute to maintaining and updating internal legal databases
  • Support the organization of meetings and assist with drafting minutes where needed
  • Provide general support to team members working on litigation, privacy, data protection, and competition law matters

We would love to hear from you if you have

  • A recent law degree (LLB, JD, or LLM) from an accredited and internationally recognized university (graduated within the past 12 months)
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A very good command of English

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to international law and/or aviation law
  • Familiarity with competition law, data privacy/data protection, technology law, or other regulatory fields
