Expected Hours: 25 hours/wk
Department Overview
Digital Fan Engagement’s mission is to grow audiences, strengthen engagement, and provide actionable insights to the broader organization. Our focus in 2026 is to utilize our unified, data-informed foundation to drive growth, optimize performance, and unlock new value for partners, internal stakeholders, and fans.
As the website team, our goal is to provide an engaging digital hub of information for all the Athletes Unlimited leagues. On both auprosports.com and theausl.com, our strategy to drive commercial growth and convert casual fans to league-loyalists includes building brand awareness through storytelling, generating leads through fan activations, and deploying web enhancements to improve the user experience.
Project Overview
Build and promote a new category of pages for the AUSL teams. The content focus will be on creating individual team pages about each team’s Impact and community activations from their 2025 and 2026 seasons.
Brainstorm and ideate with other AU stakeholders around the past and current Impact and community projects. Study current AU brand and web toolkit, as well as other leagues for inspiration. Review current search engine optimization (SEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) best practices when writing content. Create the framework for the pages within theausl.com and collaborate with AU staff to develop an initial promotional plan for their launch, including a fan activation.
- Digital Systems: Semrush, Wordpress, WIT, DataTalks
Capstone will include presenting one of the team’s pages, highlighting the digital strategies used when developing, creating and promoting each team’s page, as well as potential next steps for Causes during All-Star Cup.
This project will provide additional touchpoints for fans to highlight each team’s work in their local markets, which will grow our digital presence locally and drive more traffic.
At the end of the project, theausl.com will have the framework for new team-specific pages to attract new and existing fans to the site. It will also help display how each team embodies Athletes Unlimited’s mission of inclusivity and bringing fans closer to the game both on and off the field.
The Digital Fan Engagement Intern will report to Cora Letteri, Associate Director, Digital Media.
