JOB SUMMARY
The Legal Intern will support the company’s internal Corporate Legal Department by assisting with legal research, contract review, document management, and compliance‑related activities. This internship provides exposure to corporate legal operations and the practical application of law in a business environment while developing foundational skills for a future legal career.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist Corporate Legal Department with legal research on corporate, employment, regulatory, and compliance matters
  • Support contract review efforts, including summarizing key terms, identifying risks, and organizing agreements
  • Draft and revise routine legal documents, correspondence, and internal memoranda under supervision
  • Help maintain and organize legal files, records, and contract databases
  • Assist with compliance initiatives, policy updates, and internal audits as assigned
  • Support litigation preparation efforts, including document collection and discovery organization (as applicable)
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (HR, Operations, Finance, Procurement) to gather information related to legal matters
  • Perform administrative and special projects as needed to support the Legal Department
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
  • Currently enrolled in a J.D. program
  • Strong academic performance with an interest in corporate or business law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with document management systems a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with guidance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Basic understanding of legal principles related to corporate, employment, and business law
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, contracts, and document structures
  • General knowledge of confidentiality, data privacy, and professional ethics
  • Awareness of how legal functions support business operations
  • Legal research and analytical skills, including the ability to gather, review, and interpret information
  • Organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to follow instructions, apply feedback, and work under supervision
     
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift, push, or pull objects of various dimensions up to 30 lbs. of weight occasionally
  • Ability to perform 80% sedentary work and tolerate prolonged standing/sitting/walking
