About the Role

ABOUT THIS ROLE

St. Michael’s is hiring to fill a Data Management & Compliance Intern position to support our Headquarters Team. In this role, you will support the Executive Operations Officer in data organization, file structure optimization, and compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements. This role will focus on ensuring data is properly classified, stored, and managed in accordance with federal guidelines and organizational policies. This position will gain hands-on experience in data governance, secure data handling, and structured file management in a regulated environment.

LOCATION:

Woodbridge, VA (100% On-site)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Information Management, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of file management systems and data organization principles
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and SharePoint or similar tools)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in organizing and standardizing file structures across shared drives and data repositories
  • Apply and maintain proper file naming conventions aligned with organizational standards
  • Support identification, labeling, and handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
  • Document data management procedures, file structures, and access controls
  • Collaborate with teams to improve data storage efficiency and accessibility while maintaining security
  • Assist in developing data inventories and tracking data lineage
  • Identify and recommend improvements to data handling and compliance processes

COMPENSATION

$14 – $15 per hour
