We’re looking for Surveyor Summer Interns to join our programmes starting from November 2026.

This is an opportunity to work on our Major Project (P2D) Papakura to Drury Stage 1B.

Scope: SH1 P2D (Stage 1B) is part of a staged upgrade to improve SH1 and adjacent multi modal travel providing reliability, access, and safety. The project completes a combined 6km of motorway improvements delivering: three laned SH1 in both directions, six new motorway bridges and multiple interfacing local roads, over motorway bridges, Shared User Paths (SUPs) and upgraded utilities.

During your summer with Fulton Hogan, you’ll benefit from:

Working on a Major Project for your summer break.  We will pair you with a buddy / mentor and after your summer with us you’ll have much better idea of what area of construction interests you. (This programme is designed for undergraduates.)

You will get exposure to:

  • Assisting Site Engineers with their duties.
  • Supporting Field Staff, including manual labour work.
  • Learn about relevant surveying methods and standards.
  • Become familiar with survey instruments and related software, under supervision.
  • Help with measurements, observations, and field notes under close guidance.
  • Under supervision undertake tasks such as settlement monitoring, construction set-out, topographic surveys, viewing construction staging and planning, learning how to contribute operate within a high paced project within a great team.

We’re looking for passionate, future-thinking interns who:

  • Are currently studying towards a Diploma or Bachelors in Surveying from an NZ-recognised tertiary institute (graduating 2025–2026).
  • Hold NZ or Australian citizenship, or NZ permanent residency.
  • Are keen on practical, hands-on contracting work, often on-site and outdoors.
  • Are proactive, organised, and adaptable to change.
