Organization & Team Overview 

The Bellmawr Staging Lab is responsible for the testing of the Company's internet protocol network and transport infrastructure to meet the requirements of the Converged Regional Area Network (CRAN). Plays an important role in the testing and certifying of new hardware, configurations, and services prior to deployment to the Company Network 

. 

Role Description 

  • Provides technical advice and support for real time analysis, control, and operation of the Converged Regional Area Network and Commercial network devices. 
  • Executes existing test plans. 
  • Interfaces with Network Engineering to maintain the integrity of the test bed area. 
  • Tests and certifies configuration, hardware and new features prior to deployment to the Converged Regional Area Network and Converged Commercial Network. 
  • Provides technical support for network problems and simulation of network issues. 
  • Works to ensure that all systems and bug fixes are complete in new releases. 
  • Works with vendors on new product releases. 
  •  Maintains consistent records and documentation of all tests and certifications. 
  • Keeps the appropriate people informed and aware of the status and progress of work activities and business issues. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. 

This role provides technical advice and support for the real-time analysis, monitoring, control, and operation of the Converged Regional Area Network and Commercial network devices. The position is responsible for executing established test plans, maintaining the integrity of the test bed environment in partnership with Network Engineering, and testing, certifying, and validating configurations, hardware, and new features prior to deployment across Converged Regional and Commercial Networks. The role supports troubleshooting and simulation of network issues, ensures system readiness and completion of bug fixes for new releases, and collaborates closely with vendors on new product introductions. Additionally, the position maintains accurate documentation of all testing and certification activities, communicates status updates and key issues to appropriate stakeholders, and performs other duties as assigned, while consistently exercising independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. 

 

 

What are some interesting problems the student will work on 

You will have the opportunity to work on the latest technologies that Comcast is deploying to support the network. You will learn how to power up both AC and DC devices. Run required test/configurations. You will also get to work with our Vendors learning RMA processes and managing defective hardware. You will get exposed to many different types of networking equipment that support our Core and Access Networks, as well as Data Centers. 

Where can this student make an impact?  

You’ll be working with the best and brightest minds in Comcast (Eng 1- Eng 4) while we roll out both Core and Access Network equipment meeting tight timelines to ensure projects stay on track to meet our 2026/2027 POR (Plan of Record).

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track. 
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 22, 2026, through March 26, 2027. 
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs 
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting

Compensation

Base Pay: $32.00

Bachelor's Degree: Computer and Information Science
