About Beyond Type 1

Beyond Type 1 is a global nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by diabetes. Co-founded in 2015 by Nick Jonas, Juliet De Baubigny and fellow diabetes change-makers, Beyond Type 1 serves the largest digital audience of any diabetes nonprofit worldwide. From awareness and prevention to diagnosis and daily management, we’re here for every step of the journey.

With a mission to help people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes survive, thrive and collectively drive innovation toward prevention and cures, Beyond Type 1 offers bold, unfiltered support through education, community engagement and self-advocacy, ensuring their voices are heard and valued in spaces that inspire change. We meet people where they are—providing practical tools, community connection and direct funding—while working to dismantle stigma and systemic barriers to care, domestically and internationally.

By uniting the global diabetes community across all types, backgrounds and geographies, we’re changing what it means to live with diabetes and creating a path to a world beyond it.
 

• Partner directly with executive leaders to understand workflows, priorities, and pain points
• Identify high-impact opportunities to integrate AI into leadership and operational processes
• Evaluate and compare AI tools (e.g., generative AI, automation, analytics tools) based on organizational needs

• Develop a clear, actionable AI strategy and tool recommendations
• Build and deliver a final presentation to executive leadership outlining:
  • Recommended tools and use cases
  • Expected impact and ROI
  • Risks, limitations, and governance consideration

• Collaborate with Operations and cross-functional teams to:
  • Define usage parameters and guardrails
  • Establish best practices and workflows
  • Ensure alignment with data privacy, security, and organizational policies

• Lead initial implementation of selected AI tools
• Create simple, practical training materials tailored to executive users
• Deliver hands-on training sessions to enable adoption and confidence
• Provide real-time coaching and troubleshooting support

• AI opportunity assessment across executive workflows
• Executive-ready AI strategy presentation
• Recommended tool stack with rationale
• Defined usage guidelines and operational guardrails
• Implemented pilot use cases
• Training materials and enablement sessions for leadership

• Currently enrolled in MBA program at NYU Stern or Columbia MBA 
• Strong understanding of AI tools and trends (especially generative AI and productivity tools)
• Ability to translate technical concepts into simple, practical applications for non-technical stakeholders in ambiguous environment
• Proven ability working effectively with senior leaders

• Experience implementing AI tools in real-world settings
• Experience implementing workflow automation tools (Zapier, APIs, integrations, etc.)
• Exposure to or training in change management or organizational transformation
• Experience creating training materials or facilitating workshops

• Hands-on experience driving AI transformation in a real organization
• Opportunity to build a tangible, portfolio-ready project with measurable impact
• Mentorship and visibility with senior leadership
• Direct exposure to executive decision-making

• Session: Summer 2026
• Commitment: 40 hours per week
• Compensation: $30-45 per hour based on program year and relevant experience
• Fully remote role based in the US
