Department Overview:

Located in Oregon, WI, this privately owned 17-acre property includes a mix of prairie, woodland, and natural landscapes. The landowner recently purchased the property and is actively working to improve and steward the land through prairie restoration, woodland management, trail upkeep, landscaping, and other ecological improvement projects focused on conservation and long-term sustainability.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are seeking a motivated student to assist a private landowner with land management and outdoor improvement projects. Responsibilities include helping with landscaping, trail and property maintenance, prairie and woodland restoration, invasive species removal, planting native vegetation, and general outdoor labor. Ideal candidates enjoy working outdoors, have an interest in conservation, ecology, agriculture, or environmental studies, and are willing to perform physical work in varying weather conditions. Experience with landscaping, tools, or restoration required. Flexible scheduling available. 

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates are dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Interest or experience in conservation, ecology, landscaping, agriculture, forestry, or environmental studies is preferred. Applicants should be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking uneven terrain, and using basic hand tools. Experience with landscaping equipment, trail work, prairie or woodland restoration, or native plantings required. Reliable transportation is required.
