About the Role

AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, LA. The intern will assist with various administrative tasks within the Client Services department, such as reception duties, mail coordination, and document scanning. The intern will learn about different operational functions within the department.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in high school or recently graduated
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate multiple programs
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Flexibility to work in different areas of the department and adapt to changing tasks.
  • Ability to lift and transfer mail tubs and trays weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Foster the AMERISAFE culture by embracing the pillars of consistency, focus, frugality, ownership and service.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and open (if applicable) incoming mail daily for delivery
  • Deliver and obtain signatures for overnight mail
  • Process outgoing mail and deliver 
  • Scan and route mail and other documents via document management system
  • Learn and assist in various areas of the department, including:
    • Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
    • Operating and maintaining equipment in all areas.
    • Scanning documents via ImageRight.
    • Assisting with receptionist duties such as greeting visitors, managing deliveries, and security at the front door.
  • Follow a schedule to ensure coverage of all areas (reception, mail, imaging)
  • Refer to procedure manuals for specific instructions in each department
  • Assist with special projects as designated by the department leader


Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene.
