About the Role

The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide timely and equitable assistance to those affected by motor vehicle accidents through the provision of appropriate social benefits to ensure financial relief and recovery for qualifying individuals.

 

 

 

Purpose of the Internship: The Road Accident Fund is committed to youth skills development by providing graduates with an opportunity to gain work based experience. Applications are invited for the Internship: Litigation & Mediation for unemployed graduates between the age of 18 and 25. The Internship program will run for a period of eighteen (18) months.

Work based exposure may include the following

  • Interns will be given practical workplace structured training and on the job training and development, this will be combined with the theoretical training already acquired.
  • Administration work.
  • Drafting of correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, notices, applications.
  • Practical Application of court rules in practice. 
  • Observation of, and assistance given to, State Attorneys when appearing in Court.
  • Support State Attorney in litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Filing notices.
  • Service of documents and Notices to Plaintiff Attorneys.
  • Judgement monitoring and case outcomes reporting.
  • Attendance of and upskilling with continuous learning professional development programs (i.e. LEAD and LexisNexis).
  • Filing Bills of Costs upon receipt.
  • Provide support to oppose Taxations.
  • Preparations for appearance and appear before the Taxing Master.
  • Filing of outcomes and uploading on LMS.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certified copy of Grade 12/ NQF 4 level certificate.
  • Certified copy of NQF level 7 Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • Certified copy of Academic transcript
  • Certified copy of your ID
  • Your CV and motivational letter

Technical and behavioral competencies required

The successful candidate will be required to display the following competencies in this role:

Remuneration

The interns will be awarded a monthly stipend.

  4. Should it be found that the applicant previously served as an intern and did not disclose that info and it is discovered later, the applicant will be disqualified.
