About the Role

Name of the Project: Business Growth Platforms Intern

Vice Presidency: Strategic Planning & Business Development

Region: Central

Intern’s Location (Office): Margain Offices

 

Eligible Semester(s): 5th - 8th semester

Careers of Interest: Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Finance

Schedule Availability: Between 25 and 30 hours per week

Period of Stay at CEMEX: 6 months, with the option of renewal

Tentative Start Date: June 2026

Detailed Description of the Project

 

Project Objective

 
Support the Strategic Planning team in the analysis, design, and execution of initiatives that enhance business performance and long-term competitiveness. The intern will contribute to the annual strategic planning cycle, market analysis, and performance monitoring to support executive-level decision-making.

 

Challenges for the Students

  • Understanding complex business models and translating them into clear strategic insights
  • Managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Working with ambiguity and limited information to propose strategic recommendations
  • Interacting with cross-functional teams and synthesizing diverse inputs
  • Developing business cases that balance financial, operational, and strategic variables

 

Main Responsibilities and Activities to Be Carried Out

  • Collect and analyze internal and external market data to support strategic initiatives
  • Support strategic projects, including benchmarking, market studies, financial modeling, and process evaluation
  • Document key findings and prepare recommendations for leadership review
  • Assist in the preparation of executive presentations, dashboards, and performance reports

 

Specific Requirements / Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Ability to research, analyze information, and present conclusions clearly
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables; modeling is a plus)
  • Strong interest in strategy, business analysis, and corporate development
  • Analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proactivity and willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail and structured thinking
  • Basic financial analysis (NPV, ROI, cost/benefit) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or visualization tools is desirable
