Summary:
The Co-Op Branch MER is an entry level position within Belco’s Branch Network This role is responsible for various in branch member service interactions, providing educational information on Belco products and services aligning solutions to member needs through successful referrals. Performs a wide variety of transactional deposits, withdrawals, processing loan payments, plastic cards, and miscellaneous transactions to serve Belco’s Membership in accordance with credit union policies and procedures, while upholding Quality, Service, and Brand Standards. Represents the credit union to its members in a courteous, professional and confident manner.
Essential Functions:
- Enthusiastically supports the referrals and sales and service culture at Belco in every interaction with members and the public.
- Actively contributes to the team achievement of assigned departmental/branch and strategic goals.
- Provides efficient, prompt and accurate service in handling and processing a variety of member transactions in the branch or via telephone.
- Must be able to effectively handle cash, including large amounts, and maintain accurate and precise
transactional records.
- Utilizes a consultative sales approach to seize opportunities to educate members and potential members
about Belco products and services, cross-selling to match individual members’ needs with appropriate
products and services to enhance the member relationship with the credit union.
- Responsible for maintaining current and accurate records of sales tracking results, via Synapsys and Lobby Tracker systems.
- Responsible for adhering to all security procedures relative to the handling of member cash transactions, security, and internal operating procedures. Must maintain member and employee confidentiality.
- Abides by Belco’s policies, procedures, standards, regulatory and compliance mandates.
- . Embody Belco’s mission, vision, Belco’s Behavioral Expectations, and actively support the Brand “Belco Life”, within each interaction.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment, requiring 100% in branch work. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a role that requires standing and moving around
the branch for majority of the day. This would require the ability to lift to 25 lbs., open cabinets, and bending
or standing.
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
Current High School student. You must complete and pass the prescribed online compliance-specific Learning Management System courses. Additional education/training requirements may be requested as new courses become available.
Preferred Experience:
Cash handling and customer service experience is strongly preferred.
