Position Overview

Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino is seeking a motivated and professional Event Sales & Planning Intern to join our structured internship program. This internship provides hands-on experience in group sales, hospitality event coordination, and food and beverage operations within a casino, racing, and hotel environment. This position focuses on supporting race day group outings, private events, and hospitality experiences while learning the full event lifecycle from sales and planning through execution and follow-up.

The intern will rotate through multiple operational areas including group sales, event coordination, banquet operations, food and beverage administration, hotel operations, and race day hospitality events while participating in a structured internship and professional development program.


What You Will Do:

Group Sales & Event Planning

  • Assist with race day group outing sales and coordination
  • Research and develop prospective sales leads
  • Support event planning and operational logistics
  • Assist with client communication and relationship management
  • Coordinate event details with operational departments
  • Observe contracting and sales processes

Hospitality & Food and Beverage Exposure

  • Gain exposure to banquet and special event operations
  • Observe banquet kitchen and culinary coordination
  • Learn food and beverage administration processes
  • Support race day hospitality events and private dining experiences
  • Observe cost control and menu engineering processes

Hotel Operations Exposure

  • Learn hotel group reservation coordination
  • Observe hotel operations and guest service standards
  • Understand hospitality operational workflows across departments
