Job Summary

This internship may support one or more groups within External Affairs.  Depending on the skill set, the intern may be asked but not limited to the following duties:

  • Support media relations efforts and communication strategies
  • Write articles for publication in internal and external channels.
  • Support social media team
  • Create content / video for multi-media platforms, such as news releases, social media, internal communications and company websites.
  • Support communications team Research and benchmarking 
  • Support community engagement team reach various audiences
  • Support public policy team (research)
  • Writes testimonies for supporters in public hearings, and letters on various topics.
  • Support economic development group
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Strong writing, public speaking, and analytical skills. 
Good written communications are essential to this position.
Good organizational skills
Strong research skills
Self-Starter
Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint program
Bilingual candidates will be a plus (English, Spanish)

Education Requirements

Must be a full-time student at an accredited college and must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Government, Marketing, Communications, Public Affairs, Public Policy, International Relations, Business Administration, Pre-Law or Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field.
Must have a 3.0 GPA or greater.
Must have an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027 or later.
