UX/UI Design Intern

You will join a high-impact team at the intersection of physical and digital innovation, transforming how the construction and mining industries operate through sleek, functional, and accurate visual design in a collaborative, professional environment.

Key Exciting Responsibilities:

• Design and iterate on high-quality icons and digital illustrations for industry-leading machine control interfaces.

• Collaborate with the UX team to streamline visual design processes and eliminate technical debt.

• Update complex technical diagrams to reflect the latest hardware innovations and sensor integrations.

• Utilize professional tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Illustrator to maintain design system integrity.

• Manage design assets through version control systems like Git and GitHub to ensure seamless team integration.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in core graphic design software concepts and tools.

• Strong fundamental communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Basic understanding of design processes and visual hierarchy.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience or interest in user-centered design principles and practices.

• Familiarity with version control workflows using GitHub.

• Interest in heavy machinery or construction technology.

• Experience with 3D content tools or animation platforms like Lottie.

Location: Based at Trimble’s NZ headquarters in Christchurch, New Zealand (handily located on the Little River Link Cycleway). Our office is home to over 400 Trimble employees, where you can enjoy free parking, securely covered bike sheds, an onsite gym, showers, and an active social club.
