About the Role

Are you curious about the world of insurance and eager to kick-start your career in underwriting? We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Liability Underwriting team. This is a great opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience, develop technical expertise, and make a real impact in a dynamic, international environment.

 

Preferred start date from June or as soon as possible. The internship is for 6 months and part-time.

 

About the Role

 

As a Junior D&O Underwriter Intern, you will support the team in day-to-day underwriting activities and gain exposure to the full underwriting lifecycle—from risk assessment to client interaction.

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Maintaining and updating the portfolio database

  • Supporting the renewal process and managing related documentation

  • Assisting in underwriting analysis for new submissions and existing clients

  • Conducting risk assessments and reviewing business practices

  • Researching Spanish and Portuguese insurance markets to identify growth opportunities

  • Performing financial analysis for corporate and financial clients

  • Preparing insurance proposals, presentations, and marketing materials

  • Ensuring accurate documentation and data entry in internal systems (in line with SLAs)

  • Collaborating with the operations team to monitor underwriting controls

  • Supporting the implementation and improvement of underwriting processes

  • Building and maintaining relationships with brokers through regular interaction

 

About You

 

You are a proactive, curious, and well-organized individual with a strong interest in insurance and financial risk.

We are looking for someone with:

 

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken)

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail

  • A proactive mindset and ownership of tasks

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Solid digital literacy and advanced MS Office skills

  • Interest in financial analysis and corporate risk

 

Additionally, it would be a plus if you have:

 

  • Exposure to commercial insurance or liability products

  • Knowledge of corporate law or legal frameworks

  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems

 

Education & eligibility:

 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or master’s in Economics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or Law

  • Eligible to enter into an internship agreement with your educational institution
