About the Role

Description

Overview 

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will work directly with the General Manager and site leadership to gain hands-on exposure to all functional areas of plant operations. This internship is designed to provide a specific task of Process Improvement for the VTL work holding guideline.   This task is focused on providing safe work instructions to ensure the material being worked on is secure and the operator is safe.  


The goal is to provide a library of work holding guidelines based on type, scope, metal and various other factors.  These guidelines are to be documented (image, work instructions, etc) and housed for operators to access. 

  

The intern will support real business initiatives, assist with cross-functional projects, and participate in a structured training program aimed at developing foundational operations and leadership skills. This role is ideal for a student interested in pursuing a career in operations, supply chain, or manufacturing leadership.
 

Internship Details 

  • Location: Euclid, Ohio (on-site)
  • Schedule: Full-time, approximately 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Duration: Approximately 10–12 weeks (summer)
  • Compensation: Paid internship
  • Dress Code: Business casual (jeans and polo      acceptable)-Shop Floor requires PPE of Safety Glasses and Shoes
  • Mentorship: Direct mentorship from the General      Manager and operations leadership team 

Requirements

  

Responsibilities 

  • Working closely with the General Manager on      day-to-day operational initiatives and priorities
  • Gaining exposure to multiple functional areas including:
  1. Safety and EHS processes
  2. Engineering and maintenance
  3. Production operations
  • Responsible for processing & documenting      continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting production and operational activities as      needed
  • Assisting with data collection, reporting, and      analysis
  • Completing      additional projects or tasks assigned by site leadership
