Job Description

Unit Code: VM/CPE-JP

Internship at Bosch Japan! You will join the Controlling Process Excellence (CPE) team and work on real data and automation projects. The work is about connecting systems, making data usable, and getting things done in an agile manner. 

This is a hands-on, impact driven role. Working closely with the team lead across all initiatives, you will take ownership of defined workstreams while collaborating on the higher picture - delivering solutions that are actually used by the business. 

Your Tasks will include:

1. Connect and unify data across systems — bridging SAP exports, Excel, and Power BI into integrated, reliable reporting pipelines

2. Build and update Power BI dashboards — designing dashboards that the business actually uses

3. Create efficiency through automation — identifying repetitive workflows and building smarter solutions using Power BI, Power Automate, or similar tools

4. Support the team's digital agenda — contributing to AI-assisted use cases such as summarization, translation, and structured data collection

Qualifications

1. Currently enrolled in a degree program in Data Science, IT, Business Informatics, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field
2. Knowledge and practical experience of Power BI: data modeling, basic DAX, and dashboard building
3. Excel skills: Power Query, PivotTables, and logical formulas 
4. Good communicator, reliable, and able to work independently
5. A problem-solver - you figure things out and do not wait for answers
6. Interested in automation and how systems connect

• Preferred skills:

1. Experience with Power Automate, Python, SQL, or APIs
2. Comfortable with AI tools like Copilot or ChatGPT
3. Experience with data cleaning and structuring
4. Has written documentation or user guides before
5. Some exposure to SAP data (user level is enough)
6. Previous experience in an international work environment

• Language abilities:

1. Fluent English required
2. Basic to intermediate Japanese - preferred, not mandatory

Additional Information

• Internship Details:

Duration: 6 to 12 months - longer stays (around 10 months) are preferred 
Start date: Around September 2026, latest October 2026
Must remain enrolled at a university throughout the internship 
Open to working in an international and multicultural environment

Target Internship Period:

*We offer a very competitive monthly net allowance of 200,000 Yen on a full-time scheme. We will also provide you with all necessary documents and information for a successful Designated Activities visa application. Please note that the full visa process may take up to three months. Furthermore, applicants who intend to have an internship period for 12 months/already hold residence status in Japan will receive a monthly gross allowance.   

**Japanese Nationals:

Please note that Japanese nationals do not require a visa process. Depending on the needs of the receiving department, students fulfilling this condition may begin their internship within one month of being hired.

***Exchange students

Please note that foreign nationals on a student visa with permission for part-time job (資格外活動許可) do not require a visa process. Students fulfilling these conditions will be eligible to work on a part-time scheme only. Depending on the needs of the receiving department, exchange students may begin their internship within one month of being hired.

****Non-Japanese Nationals (visa requirements):  
Please note that applicants who are not Japanese nationals need to be eligible to obtain the Designated Activities Visa for an internship with Bosch Japan. Therefore, only students who fulfill the following conditions are eligible to apply:
A.) Enrolled student at a university at least 3 months before the internship and during the entire internship period.
B.) Doing the internship will require your university to sign a document confirming that the internship represents a mandatory or strongly recommended part of your university curriculum when applying for your visa.

Please be aware that we will not:
A.) Carry out country specific tax treaty procedures.
