About the Role

Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as on-site. The successful candidate is expected to report to the Advanced Technical Center full time.

What You’ll Do

The advanced materials research group at the GM China Science Lab is chartered to develop and implement novel materials and optimize component/subsystem manufacturing processes to a) obtain cost-effective light weighting solutions for body, chassis and propulsion systems of cars and trucks/SUVs, and b) support the achievement of GM’s goal for using more sustainable materials on GM’s future products and to reduce carbon footprint of the materials used for vehicle manufacturing. The prospective candidate will be responsible for generating novel ideas/concept, engineering feasible solutions, completing validation of new materials and processes, and finally commercializing the advanced technologies that can be integrated into future GM products and processes. Each intern student will be guided and supervised by an experienced researcher from GM China Science Lab who has rich knowledge and experience in generating innovative ideas and driving it to successful commercialization.

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location on a full-time basis.
