Intern - Product Development and Design ( June Intake ) 

Key Responsibilities

• Support the product developer and technical team during the fitting and sample review process.
• Assist in basic sewing work, minor alterations, and sample preparation.
• Support pattern making tasks, including pattern tracing, measurement checking, and simple pattern adjustments.
• Help in garment construction checking to ensure samples follow approved design, measurements, and workmanship standards.
• Prepare garments and samples for fitting sessions, including labelling, organising, and tracking.
• Assist in checking garment details such as:
  • stitching quality
  • seam finishing
  • measurements
  • construction methods
  • trims and accessories placement
• Record fitting comments and update sample status after fittings.
• Work closely with the product developer to ensure samples are prepared and reviewed on time.
• Help manage bulk sample organisation, filing, and follow-up for multiple styles across RPL brands.
• Support ad hoc tasks related to product development, sample handling, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, Pattern Making, Textile/Apparel, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of:
  • sewing
  • pattern making
  • garment construction
  • fit and measurement checking
• Able to identify basic garment construction issues and workmanship defects.
• Familiar with garment components, fabric types, and sewing techniques.
• Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple samples at one time.
• Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or basic reporting tools is an advantage.
• Hands-on, responsible, and eager to learn product development processes.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of fit comments and technical requirements.
• Internship or project exposure in fashion/apparel sample development is an advantage.
• Passion for fashion product development and garment quality.
