We have an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Quantity Surveyor to join Sedgwick’s Internship Programme. 

 

Your path to a career in Quantity Surveying starts here. Sedgwick’s Internship Programme offers handson experience within the shortterm insurance sector, supporting your development from day one. 

 

You will gain practical exposure to real claims and projects, building technical skills, commercial awareness, and confidence in a professional environment. Structured workplace learning will help you develop good judgement and an understanding of ethical practice. 

 

The role includes supporting damage assessments and scopes of work through site visits, taking measurements, identifying repair requirements, and working with structural engineers. You will also assist with sketch plans, quantum calculations, repair estimates, and Value at Risk assessments. 

In addition, you will support tender processes and reinstatement projects, including payment valuations, gaining insight into how work progresses from assessment to completion. 

 

This is perfect for someone starting a Quantity Surveying career who enjoys practical work, problemsolving, and learning on the job, regardless of background. 

 

The skills you will have when you apply:   

 

  • Recognised Qualifications  A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification, including BSc (Hons) QS, BSc QS, Advanced Diploma, or Postgraduate Diploma. 

  • Professional Responsibility  A dependable and accountable approach to work, with the ability to follow through on tasks and commitments. 

  • Ethical and Inclusive Practice  A strong sense of professional ethics, respect for confidentiality, and fair, inclusive conduct with others. 

  • Core Technical Knowledge  A basic understanding of construction methods, building elements, and standard systems for measuring building work. 

  • Digital and Drawing Skills  Confidence using MS Excel (essential), MS Word and Outlook, with the ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications and schedules; WinQS experience is beneficial.
