Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES; include but not limited to: 

  • Develop and validate photonics reference designs for various passive na active photonics devices. 

  • Perform nominal simulations as well as manufacturing variation studies for each reference design, using provided GDSII files and process parameters. 

  • Assist with testing, formatting, and publication of new photonics examples based on completed reference designs. 

  • Review existing training materials and identify gaps; help produce updated collateral aligned with photonic design workflows. 

  • Work closely with Silvaco Photonics simulation and Dev teams to better understand tool usage and achieve the objectives above. 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Junior/Senior-level undergraduate or Graduate student (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Photonics 

  • Knowledge and coursework in photonics, electromagnetics, semiconductor device physics, 

  • Experience in semiconductor industry preferred.  

  • Experience in international and remote team building preferred. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and typing 

  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers. 

  • Ability to lift (up) to 15 pounds at times.
