Job Role Description

The Manufacturing Process Engineer - Principal provides on-site manufacturing and process engineering leadership for broad areas of one or more operating sites. They guide efforts to assess and manage safety risks and promote site competitiveness. They assist with major site events and may lead complex troubleshooting efforts. They mentor and coach others and exercise influence across site teams and management. They are technology experts in at least one of their assigned areas
This role delivers value in one or more of the following areas:
- Providing on-site manufacturing and process engineering leadership for broad areas of one or more operating sites
- Guiding efforts to assess and manage safety risks and promote site competitiveness
- Assisting with major site events and leading complex troubleshooting efforts
- Mentoring and coaching others and exercising influence across site teams and management
The Manufacturing Process Engineer - Principal is a credible technical leader and can effectively communicate with both internal and external partners to deliver maximum value

Job Role Responsibilities

Strategic Vision and Performance Targets: Use broad engineering and manufacturing knowledge to advise site leadership and cross-functional teams. Help set site strategic vision and identify key performance targets. Advocate new key focus areas for the site
Lead Gap Closure: Influence site competitive performance gap and safety risk closure plans and proposed facility modifications. Engage internal, external, and cross-functional experts
Mentorship and Leadership Development: Serve as ambassador for the next generation of technical leaders. Provide coaching and mentorship
Technology / Manufacturing Link: Serve as a key link between the site technical and broader technology organization
Incident Investigation and Troubleshooting: Lead significant incident investigations and troubleshooting efforts and provide practical implementation guidance on identified corrective actions. Coach others in systematic problem-solving techniques
Major Plant Events Support: Advise and support major plant events, such as turnarounds, complex plant trials, and non-routine unit start-ups and shutdowns
Innovation and Process Improvement: Bring forward new ideas; document significant activities; improve work processes
Technology Networking: Stay connected with applicable Technology Networks and Communities of Practice
Technical Expertise: Serve as a technical expert in at least one technology area, while growing in depth of knowledge in all other assigned areas
