About the Role

At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. We are a global healthcare leader headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our employees around the world work to discover and bring life-changing medicines to those who need them, improve the understanding and management of disease, and give back to our communities through philanthropy and volunteerism. We give our best effort to our work, and we put people first. We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.

Project description: In the current dynamic environment, Finance needs to excel and overdeliver in the analysis and understanding of the footprint and performance of our field teams. To this end, we need to deep dive into the Iberia Hub’s Selling and EMS (Enterprise Meeting Services) processes and their direct impact on the Finance organization. The intern will build a strategic understanding of how information flows across areas (from meeting requests and opportunities to closures and expense analysis) to identify where data quality suffers and where improvement levers lie. To that end, the intern will (re)design key processes, engage directly with the Selling and EMS teams, and propose a concrete roadmap of solutions with a strong focus on automation and accountability. As complementary workstreams, the intern will also support collaboration with our Business Units, with a noted focus on the BU’s AI adoption Finance initiatives and their actionability.

Project Goal and Objectives: To deliver a clear diagnosis of the Selling and EMS as-is situation, identify root causes of cross-functional pain points, and propose a prioritized roadmap of automation and improvement solutions. Secondarily, to get exposed to and support our Business Units in their Finance and Automation journeys.

Key Customers/Stakeholders/Areas Exposed to: Finance team (CFO, Financial Analysts and IBU Controller), Business Unit functional teams (Marketing, Selling, Medical), other IBU Hubs across the International Business Unit, and Senior Management including the Lead Team.

Capabilities/Skills Intern will Develop: The intern will develop strong cross-functional and stakeholder management skills. They will sharpen process analysis, gaining hands-on experience in the diagnosis and recommendation phases of project management. They will build expertise in AI within a corporate environment. Additionally, they will develop ownership skills by leading initiatives and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leaders.
