The Library is seeking candidates for the Summer Student Access Services Clerk role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Shifts, shelf-reads & straightens general and media collection.
- Covers front desk when necessary.(Answers phone, takes messages, directs library users to locations within the library, takes statistics of number of patron in the library at scheduled times, discharges/charges out library material, does pick-ups of all floors collecting discarded material left on tables/carrels/chairs/labs/
keyos stations/etc) - Help with closing procedures if needed.
- Helps library users with media equipment (CD/VHS players, turn tables, cassette players, etc.) & Microfilm/fisch reader/printers.
- Answers phone and takes messages
- Shelves media/music material (including scores and LP’s
- Maintain Children's Book Collection.
Learning Objectives:
- To learn the daily operation of a busy academic library and how to collaborate with others to fulfill goals and mission of said library
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to follow instructions on any given task
- Self motivated
