About the Role

Location: Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino
Duration: 10-12 Weeks
Schedule: Must be flexible with business needs, including evenings/weekends/holidays

Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino is seeking a motivated and professional Compliance Department Intern to join our structured internship program. This internship provides hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance, operational controls, and risk management within a casino, racing, and hospitality environment. This structured internship provides practical experience in gaming compliance, cash operations, surveillance coordination, incident management, cybersecurity awareness, and operational auditing while learning how regulatory standards support daily operations across the property.

The intern will work closely with compliance leadership and operational departments while participating in a structured development program designed to build analytical, communication, and operational knowledge within the gaming and hospitality industry. 


What You Will Do

Compliance & Regulatory Operations

  • Assist with compliance reviews and operational observations
  • Learn gaming and regulatory compliance procedures
  • Observe operational auditing and internal control processes
  • Review documentation and reporting standards
  • Support compliance-related administrative tasks

Operational Exposure

  • Gain exposure to cage and cash operations compliance
  • Observe surveillance coordination and incident management processes
  • Learn security and operational risk procedures
  • Participate in race day operational and backside security exposure
  • Observe policy and procedure implementation across departments

Technology & Risk Management

  • Learn cybersecurity and information security basics
  • Observe operational risk and internal control procedures
  • Participate in compliance-related meetings and department spotlights
  • Support operational improvement and compliance initiatives


Qualifications

  • Pursuing/graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Hospitality, or related field
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and professionalism
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Interest in compliance, operations, or regulatory environments
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office or data analysis experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and race days 
  • Must be able to obtain gaming license
