2026 Summer Internship

Grow your expertise, skills, and experience through the KDM Engineering 2026 Internship Program. KDM is a growing, award-winning, minority- and woman-owned professional engineering firm focusing on electric, gas, site civil, and telecommunications engineering designs and support services.

KDM Engineering provides a one-of-a-kind, client-recognized training and mentorship program. We give our new recruits the opportunity to become effective and knowledgeable engineers at a much faster pace than our competitors. Interns will be exposed to multiple departments and projects through our hands-on learning approach.


What you will learn:

Engineering Internship

After on-site training, our Interns will be exposed to and able to create detailed designs of mid voltage distribution projects up to and including 34kV. Candidate will interface closely with client and utilize company, OSHA, and IEEE standards to facilitate design projects. Distribution projects may include but will not be limited to 4 to 12kV conversions, Overhead to Underground conversions, smart grid, cable, and conduit design.

You will be working closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design basis, providing direction and guidance to drafters and designers, directing the flow of drafting and designer duties, ensuring design schedules are met, including regularly providing project status updates to project engineer. Interns are expected to work to develop advanced skills, and work both independently and within a team.


Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related Undergraduate Program or Master’s program.

• Must be a Junior or Senior.

• Demonstrate interest in infrastructure or related field.

• Competent interpersonal and communication skills

• Basic proficiency with office software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools

backgrounds

• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

• Must be willing to comply with all pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, drug testing, reference verification, education and employment verification, and background screening.

• Valid Driver’s License
