Purpose of Role: 

Rincon Research is seeking motivated students for our Mechanical Engineering Internship. The role is focused on providing hands on experience in rapid prototyping and fabrication in a small production environment. Interns will assist with engineering tasks, process improvements, prototyping and fabrication. 



What required background will make you successful?

  • Education
    • Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering or related Undergraduate Program. 
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. 
    • Proficient with SolidWorks CAD tools. 
    • Basic proficiency with technical writing, automation and software tools. 
    • Basic knowledge and proficiency of hand tools and common shop equipment (drill press, band saw, deburring tools, taps and dies). 
  • Soft Skills: 
    • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others.
    • Capable of expressing ideas effectively and professionally to engineering and non-engineering audience. 
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED


Preferred Background: 

  • Technical Skills: 
    • Hands on experience with rapid prototyping methods such as Additive and Subtractive Manufacturing tools.
    • Experience building electronics related projects including wiring harnesses, enclosure fabrication and assembly.
    • Familiarity with working around electronic systems requiring ESD protection.
