Job Title: Intern I - Video Production 
Location: Phoenix, AZ


Description/Job Summary

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION 


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Video Production Intern to support video storyboarding, production, and post-production tasks using traditional software and artificial intelligence (AI) tools. This position is on site in our Phoenix, Arizona office and offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility safety education program for the Army. Work will revolve around creating 20 videos up to 2 minutes in length geared toward different audiences. Storyboards must be approved by our client before video production tasks begin and as a result workload may vary from week to week. The ideal candidate is a college student with course work in video production and interest or experience using AI tools.


This is a part-time internship anticipated to last from June 2026 through February 2027 based on the project schedule.


Responsibilities/Duties

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING 

  • Provide input on video scripts and storyboards that detail how narration will match up with planned graphics or actions.
  • Research and obtain stock video clips from publicly available sources or subscription services.
  • Use Adobe Premiere to edit, cut, and assemble videos.
  • Use Adobe After Effects or similar software to add digital effects, motion graphics, animated titles, and other visual flair to videos.
  • Use AI tools to generate audio narration, video clips, and animations as needed.
  • Maintain and organize raw footage, assets, native files, and final videos in a logical manner for delivery to the client.
  • Help maintain accurate records and support documentation for contract-related activities.
  • Attend and take notes in relevant team meetings or project check-ins.
  • Perform other administrative support duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (e.g., film, media production, graphic design, or a related field).
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, and similar video production and effects software.
  • Familiarity with AI platforms, particularly AI video/image generation and narration tools (e.g., Google Veo, invideo, Kling, ElevenLabs or similar).
  • Strong video production, video editing, research, and analytical skills with a curiosity about AI and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple tasks.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Portfolio of work.
  • Prior internship or video production experience in a corporate or government contracting environment.


 
Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting up to 70% of the time.
  • Repetitive hand motions (typing, tool use, etc.).
  • Viewing computer screen for extended periods.
  • Analyzing and synthesizing data.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Managing competing deadlines and shifting priorities.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Office work environment.

 

Details

 

Work Schedule: This is a part-time non-exempt hourly role with anticipated work between June 2026 and February 2027. HGL office work is dictated by a 5-day work week. The work schedule is highly variable and dependent on client approval of storyboards. The candidate may work up to 24 hours per week, depending on project needs. Opportunities to support other research or administrative tasks may be available if the video production tasks are limited at any given time. 

Office Type: This position will require starting in HGL’s Phoenix office in the summer. A hybrid schedule will be considered to accommodate continued college/university coursework.

Travel: No travel is anticipated.

 

A favorable pre-hire drug test is required. A favorable pre-hire physical may be required. All positions are subject to a pre-hire education and driving record verification.

The hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour. This position's final salary can be impacted by various factors including, but not limited to, contractual requirements, geographic location, job-related education, training, experience, and skills.
