About the Role

GENERAL STATEMENT

The ASI Communications Producer/Videographer operates as a media coordinator and is responsible for the visual documentation of ASI corporate events including University Student Union, Student Recreation & Wellness Center, Isabel Patterson Child Development Center, and other Associated Students programs and services. The Producer/Videographer is responsible for the creative implementation of multimedia to engage awareness of the ASI brand and specific marketing campaigns. The Producer/Videographer duties include digital and video camera operation, script writing, video editing, and project management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


1. Produces episodes based on significant USU & ASI events and programs for selected shows including video series for ASI President, ASI, and SRWC according to the structure of the shows as well as proper coordination with respective departments

2. Produce corporate projects according to the needs of the client by developing creative concepts from pre- to post-production. 

3. Must develop topics and ideas for projects.

4. Must be able to project timelines and meet deadlines for all projects.

5. Works in team with other ASI producers, interns and volunteers. Must delegate and supervise crew in order to foster student development projects.

6. Collaborates diligently to share resources such as equipment and crew for labor intensive projects.

7. Follows proper procedures in all aspects of production including archiving, formatting and delivery of projects.

8. Assists with marketing strategies and promotions of ASI Comm Video Productions to the campus community during designed occasions.

9. Attend weekly assembly meetings. Day and time to be determined each semester.

10. Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and/or Experience

A minimum of one-year job-related experience required. Concurrent enrollment at CSULB in 6 or more units.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

Experience with filming and editing operations and functions. Equipment literate must be able to use digital cine cameras and have a working knowledge of lenses and lighting equipment.

Computer literate, must be comfortable to use the following programs: After Affects, Premiere Pro CC, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Media File Conversion Software, and Microsoft Office.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptional communication skills are a must. A portfolio or reel will be required at interview.

 

Schedule

Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week with the flexibility to cover up to 20 hours per week as needed.

 

Must be available to work evenings and some weekends as needed during the academic year. Must be available to work during the winter & summer breaks. Hours during summer and winter breaks are to be determined by the supervisor.
