Education Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited program through a university or college in Translation, Linguistics, Localization or similar fields.

General Description/Scope of Responsibilities (Internship):

The Medical Translation Team is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to join as a Translation Project Coordinator Intern, focused on language project management and localization.

The intern will be engaged in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, working side by side with experienced translation and localization professionals to support the execution of language projects from start to finish. As a key player on the Medical Translation Team, this person will serve as the single point of accountability for the successful completion of assigned translation projects.

The intern will develop hands-on knowledge and skills related to translation project coordination, vendor management, quality assurance, and cross-functional communication experience that will enhance their educational background and set them up for success in a Project Management or Language Services career upon completion of their degree program.

Essential Functions of the Internship:

  • Coordinate all assigned language and translation projects, from initiation to delivery
  • Manage multiple translation projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify project parameters and scope; communicate issues or updates proactively
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with external translator vendors globally
  • Make sure the translated content is properly verified and not just linguistically correct but also faithful to the original intent
  • Perform other special projects or duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • None

Proficiency in:

  • Strong written and verbal communication in Portuguese and English
  • Proficiency in MS Office; basic Excel data analysis skills (pivot tables, etc.) are a plus
  • CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tool preferred knowledge

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience coordinating projects and managing resource assignments is a plus
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred
  • Brazil Remote
