Shield HealthCare is looking for a Pharmacy Summer Intern in our Valencia, CA corporate office to support licensed pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient medication services. This role combines hands-on pharmacy operations with ongoing clinical learning, allowing the intern to apply academic knowledge in a real-world healthcare environment.

This is an on-site position in Valencia, CA

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist pharmacists in prescription entry (fax and e-prescriptions).
  • Provide excellent customer service by calling customers with pending orders to arrange consent and delivery.
  • Perform stock rotation and check for expired products to remove from shelves.
  • Assist pharmacists in conducting medication reconciliation by gathering patient histories and documenting information accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment following state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with quality assurance tasks, such as checking temperatures, logging data, and verifying workflow accuracy.
  • Participate in clinical learning, staff meetings, and training sessions to develop professional competency.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Understand and apply all federal and state laws.
  • Other duties and projects may be assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in healthcare, healthcare administration, public health, health sciences, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

 SALARY:

  • $17.85-19/hour
