Position Highlights

The Nursing Student Internship (NSI) at Avera Heart Hospital is a 10-week, full-time, paid internship during the summer. The NSI program will provide you the experience to expand your clinical skills while working in partnership with a designated Registered Nurse preceptor. The NSI program provides students with the ability to learn directly from health care workers.

NSI applicants must be enrolled in an accredited RN program (Associate or Bachelor degree) and have participated in an academic clinical experience. At the time of the internship, NSI students must be within 1 or 2 semesters of their graduation date (Winter 2026 or Spring 2027).
