About The Company
MassDEP serves the Commonwealth by protecting natural resource areas that involve water, land and air. MassDEP is responsible for ensuring clean air and water, safe management and recycling of solid and hazardous wastes, timely cleanup of hazardous waste sites and spills, and the preservation of wetlands and coastal resources. MassDEP enforces environmental laws, provides technical assistance to cities and towns, issues permits and licenses for activities near sensitive resources, inspects contaminated site cleanups, and partners with other federal and state agencies, municipal officials and environmental stakeholders.
About the Role

Position Summary

MassDOT is seeking a highly organized and motivated Human Resources Project Management Co-Op to support key HR initiatives. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public sector human resources, with a focus on project coordination, process improvement, and workforce development.

The Co-Op will work under the guidance of the HR Program Director and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects that enhance the employee experience, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of HR projects, including process improvements, change management efforts, and initiatives aligned with MassDOT’s strategic plan
  • Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using project management tools and internal systems
  • Support the development of reports, presentations, and data analyses related to HR programs and initiatives
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare materials, and document meeting notes and action items
  • Collaborate with HR staff and departments across MassDOT to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables
  • Support compliance efforts by maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with state guidelines
