Title: Executive Strategy Intern
Timeline: Summer through Fall 2026
Focus Areas: Executive leverage, analytics, AI initiatives, FP&A, operational strategy, board reporting, and organizational analysis
Part-Time | On-Site | Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: TBD
Strategy Financial Group is an independent financial services firm dedicated to building long-term, trusted relationships with our clients. We take a thoughtful, personalized approach to financial planning by combining strategy, clarity, and genuine care to help people make informed decisions and thrive in retirement.
We are seeking a high-capacity intern to work directly alongside executive leadership on strategic, analytical, and operational initiatives that impact the business in real time.
This is not a traditional “sit in meetings and observe” internship. It is designed for a sharp, ambitious student who wants meaningful exposure, high expectations, and the opportunity to contribute well beyond their experience level.
About the Role
This internship is built for someone with exceptional potential. You may not have years of experience yet, but you are intelligent, resourceful, highly coachable, and motivated to grow quickly. You enjoy solving problems, figuring things out independently, and bringing structure to complexity.
You will work closely with leadership to transform scattered information into clear analysis, organized reporting, actionable recommendations, and operational leverage.
The work will span multiple areas of the business and may include strategic planning, AI implementation, executive reporting, financial analysis, operational problem-solving, and organizational initiatives.
This role aligns closely with Strategy Financial Group’s core values:
Growth Mindset
Excellence
Doing the Right Thing
People First
Family
What You’ll Work On
AI & Innovation Initiatives
Research, test, and help implement AI tools and workflows that improve operational efficiency, decision-making, communication, and scalability across the organization.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Assist with KPI tracking, business performance reporting, revenue analysis, forecasting support, operational metrics, and executive-level financial insights.
Executive & Board Reporting
Help prepare polished, accurate, and visually clear presentations, board materials, summaries, and leadership updates.
HR & Organizational Analysis
Support projects related to hiring, organizational structure, workforce planning, capacity analysis, and people analytics.
Strategic Operations & Special Projects
Help turn undefined or messy business problems into organized workstreams, research findings, recommendations, and actionable next steps.
What We’re Looking For
The right candidate is:
Exceptionally analytical and intellectually curious
Hungry to learn and receptive to direct feedback
Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
Comfortable operating in ambiguity
A strong written communicator
Able to manage confidential information with professionalism
Fast-moving while maintaining accuracy and quality
Interested in business, finance, operations, leadership, AI, and problem-solving
Humble enough to learn and confident enough to contribute
We are seeking qualified students currently pursuing degrees in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Analytics, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Operations or Supply Chain Management, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields with strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Exposure
Experience is not the primary requirement. Potential, initiative, and capability matter more. That said, strong candidates may have exposure to:
Excel or Google Sheets
PowerPoint or Google Slides
AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity
Finance, accounting, economics, analytics, or business coursework
Research and executive summaries
Dashboards, reporting, or data visualization
Consulting projects, business competitions, student organizations, entrepreneurial ventures, or internships
What Success Looks Like
By the end of the internship, this person will have contributed meaningful value by:
Reducing manual reporting and administrative friction
Improving the clarity and usefulness of leadership materials
Producing analysis that supports stronger decision-making
Helping identify opportunities for automation and AI integration
Bringing structure and momentum to complex projects
Becoming a trusted analytical and operational resource to leadership
Who This Is For
This opportunity is best suited for someone who:
Wants real responsibility early
Learns quickly and adapts fast
Enjoys solving difficult problems
Thrives in high-expectation environments
Wants exposure to executive-level thinking and business operations
Who This Is Not For
This is not an observational internship.
It is not designed for someone who needs constant direction, avoids accountability, or prefers highly structured step-by-step work.
This role is designed for someone who wants accelerated growth, meaningful exposure, honest feedback, and the opportunity to contribute at a high level before they have technically “earned” it on paper.
