Job Description and Requirements
RBFCU is seeking talented and motivated candidates for our Summer 2026 Internship Program located at our Live Oak Administrative Service Center. This is a 12-week program and is an excellent opportunity for the selected Intern to gain knowledge within their field of study and to immerse themselves into our credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”
The Enterprise Contact Center Management Intern will design and build RESTful web service APIs in Java for our Genesys application. The Intern will utilize Genesys API to enhance the member experience and employee efficiency, providing data pulled to management to create future projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Work with frontline staff and member facing business units to build and utilize API connections to enhance the member experience and employee efficiency.
Work with current API connection to build data reports based off calls and analytics to provide to Management.
Determine Design and build RESTful web service APIs in Java for our Genesys Platform.
Collaborate with experienced Leadership team to conceive, design, and bring innovative solutions and services.
Create clean, testable code using JUnit, Postman, TDD, and Swagger.
Work with standard development tools like Eclipse, Git, Github, Jenkins, Maven, and web app servers such as WebSphere or Liberty.
Write SQL queries.
Collaborate in an agile team to meet business needs.
Continuously learn new tools and technologies to improve products and processes.
Ensure Collaboration, continuous learning, solving complex problems, and producing high-quality code.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Completed 2 years at an accredited college or university, working towards a degree in Computer Science or a closely related field; OR successful completion of a relevant program from an accredited technical school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Less than one year of job related experience
Strong foundational skills in Java, OOP, and RESTful API development
Must be able to write SQL Queries
Strong fundamentals with web frameworks such as Spring MVC or Spring Boot
Ability to debug, understand and enhance the functional capabilities
Must enjoy working collaboratively, learning continuously, solving complex problems, and producing high quality code
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with RBFCU employees
